School Uniforms
Everyone is unique and special in their own way because we are all different. ... What someone is wearing is the first thing you notice, especially while in school. Many people look forward to school shopping because it is exciting. ... School uniforms in public schools are not necessary and the dress code just needs to be enforced.
While I don’t see a problem with school uniforms, I also do not see why all schools should convert to them. I understand that uniforms may take away from many distractions or fights, but that will not solve everything. In an interview with a fourteen year old she quotes, “We felt that we couldn’t express ourselves through our clothes and shoes because of the uniforms, so we started expressing ourselves with our hairstyles or make-up” (Channel One Network 2003). So the uniforms are just on the exterior, they are not addressing the underlying problems.
