Philosophy, Ethics and Education has allowed us to touch the surface of several philosophers’ ideas on education and conduct. Through Meno, Plato described that a teacher's job is not to fill the student with knowledge but to guide students into remembering things that were once known. Chambliss brought forth the notion that education is conduct. Dewey veered away from “traditional education” and opened our minds to the idea that one can become educated by exploring outside the “bubble”, creating new experiences, and learning from past experiences. Education provides students with the necessary knowledge, experiences, and skills needed so that they can help to contribute to our society in a more positive way. Nel Noddings’, Educating Moral People: A Caring Alternative To Character Education discusses the importance of instilling morals to our students and creating a good education grounded by an ethic of care.
