“Oedipus Rex” is the play about the man who has killed his biological father and married his biological mother. Fate is one of the main points of the play. Fate played an important role in the lives of the characters. I agree that it is impossible for humans to escape their fate. Everyone has their own fate since they was born. Fate controls the lives of people. No one can avoid their predestined fate as the main characters of “Oedipus Rex”. The queen, Jocasta and her son, Oedipus, both tried to avoid what Teiresias and the oracle told them but eventually they couldn’t escape their fate. ... As you’ve seen from this point, queen Jocasta and king Laius have tried to escape their fate but eventually they couldn’t avoid their prophecy.
