Tom Brown 1 Professor Howard English 1010 24 February 2004 New Beginning Through the years there are experiences that are able to shape a person’s life and alter they way things have always appeared to them. In my own life I too have had such a profound experience. This experience for me was when I had to enter a year long treatment facility. The three things that I was able to learn from this was self introspection, discipline, and that a second chance was very possible. This year-long treatment gave myself ample opportunity for self introspection. Just prior to my arrival at this facility I had spent several years not dealing with reality, not focusing on goals, and most disappointingly not knowing myself. I was given the gift of plenty of time in a awkward setting amongst strangers to reflect on what I had became. This I am very grateful for, because through this I was able to realize several important things.
