So back to the point at hand: how can Republicans who have fought to economically "engineer" oil as the winner have the nerve to cite Hayek? According to Hayek, the road to socialism is paved with industry subsidies. ... IMO, by that reading, the solution to our energy problems is not MORE subsidies -- i. ...
Instead the answer lies in the opposite direction -- eliminating every single tax advantage for oil, not to mention the billions footed by taxpayers to maintain the strategic reserve and militarily defend fossil fuel interests overseas.
