It is hard to deny that nowadays our life is more convenient and more comfortable than before. ... Just like recently people have been attacked by the SARS and now the avian influenza. ... Some people claim that the luxuries and conveniences of contemporary life corrupt our independency and enervate our strength to resist the attack of the environment, for the automobiles make us lazy, fast-foods and instant ¨Cfoods make us fat. However, I have to argue that luxuries and conveniences are not the scapegoat to blame for all these problems.
