Aborigines were also seen as religious people. ... The Dreaming governed the way people lived and how they should behave. ... Evidence of Aboriginal religion was found at Lake Mungo, western New South Wales, where the remains of a woman were found buried in the sand dunes around the lake. This discovery proves that the Aboriginal people believed in the afterlife and religious ceremonies for the dead.
