I believe that students in public schools should not be required to recite the pledge of Allegiance for several reasons. ... Children have the right to attend school without being looked upon differently for not reciting the pledge in school.
According to Carmen Lee in the article “Pledge of Allegiance law vexes schools”, in the February issue of the Post Gazette for years the U.S Supreme court has said that even voluntary prayer in public schools violates the First Amendment, which states that congress shall make no law respecting any establishment of religion.
