Smoking passively or directly is harmful to everyone in society and this leads to why cigarette smoking should be prohibited in all public places, in particular closed areas such as shopping malls and restaurants. A public place is an area, which is open and shared by everyone. Smoking can lead to health problems, sets poor examples to young children, threat to the environment and causes the public who don’t smoke feel uncomfortable.
A person who smokes in public places not only harms their health but the people around the area. Even though the people around are not smoking, they are actually passive smoking, which is just as worse as smoking a cigarette.
