Although the Dave Chappelle show is badly criticized by many for its crude humor; it is intended to entertain. Mnay others find his jokes to be funny and uplifting. It is not Dave Chappelle's intentions to affend anyone; no one is forced to watch this show. Over the last several years, the issue of conflict and conflict resolution has been an ever-increasing area of concern for a lot of corporations. At my company, Verizon, conflict is a daily part of being employed with a large multinational corporation. Depending on the business unit, my company employs various methods of resolving conflict. Each manager is responsible for making sure that conflict is resolved in a timely manner, however, if this is not the case, the employee is entitled to escalate their particular grievances or differences to a higher authority within the company. Of course, this does not guarantee any party the outcome they desire, but it does guarantee that they will be treated equably. There are various reasons that conflict occurs within any given area; however, my plan is to focus mainly on my area of billing and operations and escalate to the corporate level, when necessary. I work as a specialist in the area of billing and billing operations. In my department there are only four specialists all reporting to one manager. Each specialist, depending upon his or her area of expertise, has at least three associates reporting to him or her.
