As the management consultant for Consolidated Industries, I have looked over the company’s total estimated costs of employee absenteeism. Analyzing absenteeism costs of an individual organization is important because it not only lets management know how severe the problem is but also creates a baseline for evaluating the effectiveness of absence-control programs. Although I can’t plan for every event that may affect the employees, I can suggest the company to implement two alternative programs for reducing employee absenteeism. Last year Consolidated Industries had a total estimated cost of absenteeism of $3,493,683.
