Northern Ireland
The problems between the Protestants and the Catholics goes way back in the history. ...
Northern Ireland occupies the northeast of Ireland. It takes up about a six of the island, while The Independent Republic Of Ireland occupies the rest of the Island. Northern Ireland is often called Ulster that’s because Ulster was the name of a large province of Ireland until 1920, when Northern Ireland was separated from the rest of Ireland.
The problems between the Protestants and the Catholics in Northern Ireland began a long time ago. For centuries the English had tried to gain control of Ireland until the sixteenth century, when England controlled only a small area around Dublin. The English rulers including King Henry VII, Queen Elizabeth I and Oliver Cromwell gradually conquered the whole of Ireland.
