Stan Brown is a mathematics teacher from New Zealand. He works in an international high school in Philippines. Stan is teaching in that high school for two years and has developed a mathematic curriculum development project. He has students from both Philippines and foreign countries whose parents are working there. Stan has a Pilipino friend called Jose who is also a teacher at that high school. They have both attended a meeting regarding Stan¡¦s curriculum. His proposal went through fine. Since there was extra time remaining, principal asked Jose to give some lay out about the project he was working on. During the time that Jose was sharing his ideas, Stand asked some questions that made Jose to think and respond later. Jose and Stan had a plan to go out for a dinner, but Jose canceled it after the meeting was finished. This made Stan puzzled. On the other hand, Jose was upset when informing the cancellation of the dinner. „Ï Evaluation: It looks like Stan is very serious about his job. His project is strait forward and is being approved with not much argument. He also has an effective role on Jose¡¦s proposal. He asks Jose some hard questions which Jose doesn¡¦t have immediate answers for the questions. In my opinion this is rude to ask too many questions from a person in front of his principal. This can cause Jose to loose his creditability. Stan has some good social relationships and this is being proved first of all by the job that he has. A teacher is a person who deals with a lot of students and their parents. Also it is written that he has made some close relation ship with Jose. Stan is living in Philippines for only two years and during this time he was able to make a close friendship with a local person so that they even go out together. Stan is also a successful person in his job. He was able to make an educational curriculum in a foreign country. This requires expertise in the educational system of that country and Stan has done this. But in the other side of the story we see that he fails in his relation ship with his close friend. In my culture if somebody during a presentation does the same as Stan did, He will be considered as a jealous person who doesn¡¦t want to see other¡¦s success but only his.
