The day was January 15th, 2002. My cousin Brandy and I decided to take a trip to the mountains for the weekend. We left Saluda about noon on Friday; it was a foggy, wet, and a bitter cold day. We decided this trip to get away and enjoy ourselves. We arrived in Cherokee North Carolina around 4 pm., the first thing we did was pay for a room at the Smokey Mountain Inn. The room was cozy, with two double beds. After getting the room we decided to take a trip to Harrah’s Casino across the road from where we were staying. We arrived at the casino with a limited amount of money to gamble with. As we walked in through the rotating and sliding doors, we noticed the décor was very elegant but yet inviting. The floor consisted of colorful plush carpet.
