Honestly speaking, when I was a child, I liked Marcos than Aquino. I don't know why but I liked the "L" sign of the Marcos better than the Aquino's "V" sign. I also used to argue with my classmates while in grade school on who was the better president—Ferdinand Marcos or Cory Aquino (that time the latter was sitting in the position). And I always say our economy was better because there was little or no crime during Marcos' time. But now that I'm older and wiser I've come to know the story better. I'm not saying I have changed side; it's my opinion about these people, particularly the Marcoses that has changed through time. When one speaks of Ferdinand Marcos, two words would always cling to his popular name—MARTIAL LAW. For more than 20 years, he reigned over our land, being the most powerful of all the rulers of the country.
