The purpose of my personal exercise programme is to train a specific component of fitness used in my sport choice. The sport I have chosen to improve a component of fitness in is tennis. I have decided on this sport as I am and have been a keen competitor in season and train hard all year round. Name: Sam Morris Age: 16 D.O.B: 12/06/87 Gender: Male Height: 196 Weight: Health problems: Sport: Tennis Level: ex county, 1st team club player. Current Club: Stowmarket T.C Achievements: 9th out of 54 teams from across Great Britain whilst representing Suffolk, July 2001. Suffolk mixed doubles champions- 2002 Suffolk schools champion- 2003 Training: currently train 3-4 times a week for duration of between 2-3 hours at a time, however the training that I do is all based around on court performance and is usually worked around skill and tactical play rather than separate components. At the moment the tennis season hasn’t yet started so it would be a good time to make any adjustments or improvements to my game. The male side of tennis is much more physically demanding than the female side. Therefore a male’s physique needs to be better, he needs to be faster, stronger and have better endurance. Also age plays an important factor in designing a training programme. As I am only 16 I am still fully developing so now would be a perfect time to start modifying my physique.
