The Self-Image Of A Christian
What is the self-image of a Christian? For me a Christian’s self-image should be like a mirror. ... One of the things that clouds our reflection of Christ is self esteem. Without a Christ like self esteem it is impossible for us to portray Him accurately. The world can see through our shallow attempts to cover up our lack of self esteem. The world can tell when we are getting our self esteem from sources outside of Christ. Our self esteem comes from our innate sense of acceptance, belonging, security, and purpose. ...
Even after we achieve Godly self esteem our mirror is still dirty. ... They will find a beautiful sparkling image of Christ. If we truly seek after Him and live our lives like He lived His we will be a perfect image of a Christian. ... You have just accepted Christ’s offer of freedom from Satan and the world’s offers of a poor, unquenchable self esteem. ... Renewing a fellow Christian with some of God’s love is one of the many joys to be found in being a believer.
With the loss of our poorly founded self esteem and sin problem we are ready to join our place in the body.
