Many novels show a connection between an individual and the society as a whole. Sometimes the individual and society are against each other fighting for what they believe and at times they live prosperously. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a perfect example of this concept. Fahrenheit 451 is a perfect example of society versus individual for various reasons. In the novel the main character has to overcome all the obstacles that are put in front of him by the society he lives in to do what he believes. At first Montag believes in what the society is told to do but after meeting Clarisse he begins to think about what is right.
