Multiple Intelligences According to Gardner, intelligence is the capacity to solve problems or to fashion products that are valued in one or more cultural setting. He used biological as well as cultural research to identify the intelligences that he named. His outlook on intelligence greatly differed with the traditional view of verbal and computational. Gardner identified eight multiple intelligences. They are logical-mathematical intelligence, linguistic intelligence, spatial intelligence, musical intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, and naturalistic intelligence. Logical mathematical intelligence consists of the ability to detect patterns, reason deductively, and think logically. It is having competence in using numbers, inductive and deductive reasoning, and abstract patterns.
