In my humble and all too fallible view the debates on illegal immigration that are going on right now in the U. ... Government debates are perhaps less to do with the illegal bit and more to do with immigration as a whole. Even amongst liberals (in both the European and American government) immigration is often viewed as a form of foreign aid, letting in a few people (or in the case of America quite a lot of people) is seen as an act of charity. The truth of course is that immigration is as helpful to the receiving country as it is to the immigrants them selves. ...
Upon watching a tense interview on Tuesday 4th January, with Jeremy Paxman (interviewer) and Tony Blair (interviewee) about his views on current affairs, such as the impending conflict between the united nations and Iraq, with regards to the possession of weapons of mass destruction, and intentions of misuse, I realized what a grand issue immigration has become.
