Have you ever wondered how it would feel like to be in the position of a person who lives on the wages available to the unskilled people? Well this what Barbara Ehrenreich and, her editor, Lewis Lapham were discussing at lunch one afternoon. They were thinking how could women, who were to be put out into the work force, survive by welfare reform going to make it on a low salary. So then the author, Barbara Ehrenreich said someone should go out her and try to live like the people on minimum wage for themselves. So then the editor got this crazy expression on his face and looked at Barbara and said a three-letter word to her "You." At first she was skeptical about the project she was getting herself into. It obvious everyone gets a little jumpy when we are faced with an obstacle we never have done before.
