US: A benevolent dictator of Iraq? The Bush administration has justified its war against Iraq on three grounds: Saddam Husseins alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction, his links to so-called terrorists, and liberating Iraqis from oppression and tyranny. ... We were never in Iraq for liberating the Iraqis, and even post war reconstruction is not for the ‘sake’ of the Iraqi people. The administration has used this statement over and over to sell the war to the people of US, as well as Iraq. ... We would like to make believe that the post-war reconstruction in Iraq is for the ‘sake’ of Iraq. Are we pumping billions of dollars into Iraq just because we want to see the people of Iraq happy?
