The rights of the gay and lesbian section of the society have been a matter of much debate ever since the concept invaded society. Adoption of children among gay and lesbian people is a matter that delves further into the issue of their social rights and allowances. ... (Petit and Curtis, 72) Many of these children have historically been viewed as "unadoptable" because they are not healthy white infants. ... This should be the primary reason behind allowing gay and lesbian couples to adopt children. ...
It must also be remembered that gay and lesbian people, though they are of a different sexual orientation are human beings as well. ... Hence a proper legal system should not resent the issue of gay and lesbian couples who want to adopt children.
There are many myths surrounding the issue of adoption by gay and lesbian children. As far as concerns about the conditions in which the children will grow up are about, there need not be any problems. While gay and lesbian couples are able to love and care for their adopted children, many children get raised in volatile atmospheres in their birthparent’s household.
