“A Personal Statement, Introducing Me” I have lived a life full of new challenges. Each day, I face new obstacles that I never let stand in my way. Since the early age of ten, I had to live my life in a foster home. Life at home did not work out with my biological mother. I cannot blame her for the way things turned out, because it could of happened to any family. As much as she tried she just couldn’t hold things together. My mother was unable to work but she always did her best to make ends meet. As time went on things got worse for my mother. No longer able to face her problems my mother turned to drugs. For her it was an escape, but for my sister and I, it was a punishment for a crime we didn’t even commit. Along with mom’s new addiction there came other problems, because she began to spend the little we did have on her habit rather than our needs. No longer able to stand back and watch our mother ruin our lives our neighbors did what they thought was best.
