The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding was a story about marooned young-teenagers who must survive using their military skills. The novel was eventually turned into a movie directed by Peter Brook; though the movie was based on the storyline of the novel, there were many differences and similarities between the book and the movie.
Some similarities between the movie and the novel are that the characters are all involved. The movie does this so it doesn’t destroy or mislead some of the audience members that have not read the novel already. The Lord of the Flies novel is about a group of boys who are returning from military school when there plane crashes and the boys are isolated on a deserted island. ... The movie had exactly the same plot and included the exact same characters from the novel in the movie. In conclusion, the main similarity between the novel and the movie is the plot summary.
One extreme difference between the novel and the movie is that in the novel, there were many symbolic items used that were obvious and events that developed the plot and gave meaning to it. However, in the movie, the symbols were unclear, and some of the meaningful events were left out. ... This symbol was made very clear to the reader, but in the movie, you couldn’t really understand that the glasses had true meaning.
