Of Mice and Men Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is an intriguing book that is unlike any ever written. It is filled with people like George and his friend Lennie. Lennie is mentally retarded and George tried to take care of him. Lennie has the mind of a six year old in a giant’s body. Unlike Lennie who is mentally retarded and cannot take care of himself, George changes in many ways through out the novel; physically, mentally, emotionally, and what his goals are. George is characteristics and actions toward Lennie are described many different ways through out the novel. George is small with stocky arms, stocky body, and sharp facile features. George appears frustrated, angry man with a short temper. It’s hard for him to stay calm when Lennie always gets in trouble.
