1. When Oedipus says he is a child of fortune he means that when he was born everything bad was brought upon him. He killed his father and then married his mother and had children with her. All the fortunes that were said to have supposed to happen to him really happened therefore making the fortune come true. 2. When the chorus says “time who sees all has found you out against your will” they mean that your wishes to find the killer of Lauis has come against you and you have discovered that you are the true murderer. 3. The significance of Oedipus blinding himself, especially with Jocasta’s brooches is that he no longer wants to see the world because it is such a cruel place that has taken everything away from him including his wife.
