Have you ever wondered why road rage has become on ongoing problem? Where did we learn to drive with such aggression? Who are the victims, and who are the ones that put our lives in danger everyday? Road rage is an ever present and growing problem in the United States that needs a resolution. Four wheeled aggression does not hold any bias, and unknowingly we all can potentially fall victim to this trend. There has always been an element of danger on our roads for as long as there been automobiles. Although this trend has been a part of our lives for many years, I believe that road rage is on the rise. According to the American AA, accidents caused by aggressive driving have increased 51 percent since the early ninety’s. In addition, approximately two-thirds of traffic accidents are caused by aggressive driving behavior (Stephen 134). Even though road rage is such a prevalent problem the cause of this trend is still unclear. In my opinion, I believe that there are two major factors that can be linked to the development of road rage.
