Women have progressed in the legal profession since it started. In the past, men are the ones seen practicing law because the profession is characterized as being masculine. Gradually, women started to practice it because they have some qualities that are useful to the legal profession. However, women that take this path, at one point will have to make decisions. ... In essence, there are many problems that have influenced the rate at which women have been incorporated into the profession, which led them to make the kinds of career paths they decided to follow. Women in the legal profession emerged as a recent occupation since men were the ones who started going to law school first and pursuing a career in the legal profession. ... ” In the legal profession, characteristics of assertiveness and strong voices are being displayed most of the time rather than using polite manner such as passive soft voices. This profession is very powerful and intense because it requires an opinionated voice that can speak up on a daily basis, and also empower a courtroom as a leader. ... Women are taught to be submissive weak individuals who are caretakers of their family and are the ones who listen and do not talk back. ... However, as time went by, the public became in tune to women’s qualities and started to notice their gift.
