Hollywood Successfully ventures into the unknown with Philadelphia
What makes a good film? ... The film Philadelphia has qualities of a good movie, but at the same time it has some let downs as well. ... I am a movie watcher and am very picky when it comes to rating movies, but I must say that Philadelphia is a good movie. ... I really like how Hollywood represented the homosexuals in the movie to be normal run of the mill males, instead of the feminine, sissy that they are usually shown on TV. ... To Miller being mistaken for a homosexual is a major insult and he has a hard time dealing with it throughout the movie until Andrew Beckett shows him that he is no different that Joe. ... However, I must suggest that next time Hollywood tries to go where it has never gone before that they try to do so without a “safety net” underneath like they did with this film.
