Another chance for those that deserve it Criminal’s to date seem to be increasing throughout the United States, but at the same time increasing in great numbers somewhere else, prison of course. But are they all supposed to be there, or are they all supposed to stay there forever? The criminal justice system is not perfect as a lot of convicted prisoners are innocent of accused crimes and wrongly get sentenced. They are a small number of people, but nonetheless they are there and why should an innocent person be punished for something he/she didn’t do. However, a more broad and general attempt must be made to educate and monitor prisoners including this small minority of convicts so that they can be given a chance to become normal active citizens in society. Crimes obviously vary from being sentenced to serve a limited number of years to life in prison for committing murder. People can be sentenced to serve for example 20 years for armed robbery, etc. If someone such as that is serving a prison sentence, they should be educated in prison and taught in different ways how to be productive members of society. When evaluations of the prisoner are made and it is seen that the prisoner could be given a chance to live life regularly, they should be allowed a chance to do so, but of course be monitored and still have certain restrictions placed on them.
