People have been called heroes since the dawn of time. But what makes a hero? Each person has their own specific qualities to which they think someone is a hero. But in the general sense, a hero is someone who saves a life or some other great deed. And under these qualities, Odysseus meets them with flying colors. One of Odysseus’s acts of heroism was when he gouged the eye of Polyphemus to let himself and his men escape from his cave. Polyphemus had already started devouring his men and Odysseus’s was not going to sit idly around while they were all killed. So he devised an ingenious plan to impair the Cyclops so that they could escape and it worked perfectly, they fled to their ship and away they went.
