In this report I will discuss the five different methods of records storage. Those methods are alphabetic, subject, numeric, geographical, and chronological. Alphabetic records storage files records in dictionary style, from A-Z, based on the letters in the name of the client or organization. The subject method files records based on the subject of the record rather than name of the client or organization. ... In the geographic method, records are filed according to their location. The chronological method is the only non-alphabetical method of records storage. Instead of relying on the name, account number, subject, or location, records in this method are filed by the date on the record. ...
