War: Is It Worth It?
A “Soldier’s Home “by: Hemingway is a story about Harold Krebs who returns
from fighting in World War I . Hemingway says “People seemed to think it was rather
ridiculous for Krebs to be getting back so late, years after the war was over. ... Some people would think that he should do his part and fight in the
war, while others may think that he shouldn’t have fought in the war. ... In A “ Soldier’s Home “ it appears
Hemingway is saying Krebs should not have gone to war, because of the isolation from
friends and family, recieving no support from friends and family, and the emotional
scars that haunt him forever.
Even though everyone should do his part for freedom, Krebs should not have
gone to war because of his isolation after the war.
