Purpose: To experiment with agar and observe and record the growth of colonies of the bacteria Lactobacillus. Procedure Day 1: 2/25 1. Measure 2 g. of potato dextrose (agar). 2. Use balance to measure exact amount of agar. 3. Plug in heaters. 4. Measure 100mL of water and pour into 250mLbeaker. 5. Mix the agar into the water using a stirrer. 6. Place on the heater stirring constantly to prevent overspill. 7. Pour into sterile Petri dishes after solution has cooled. 8. Print name on bottom of Petri dish. (top lid) 9. Refrigerate after agar has been poured into the dishes.
