“In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flames by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit” -Albert Schweitzer Schindler’s List was a true and very startling movie. The movie was mostly in black and white. The very end and a little girl in the begging were in color. The little girl was being chased out of the ghetto and her red dress shown. Oscar Schindler was watching this on the top of a hill. At the end, the Schindler Jews were shown in present day and in color putting stones on his grave. Personally, I think the director did this to amplify the effect of this little girl getting pushed out of her home just to go to a camp and die. In addition, he might have done this because it gave the movie a more real effect and black and white always seems to be more tragic and serious. The moving being black and white was a powerful statement but the way he transitioned the scenes also made a large impact. He went from you seeing the Jews in pain to seeing Schindler try to schmooze his way to getting free help.
