Labor: A Look at the Physiology Process and Changes in the Body
Birth: a process in which developed young depart from the mother to become an independent living individual. The birthing process is something that happens in every civilization and every walk of life. Through out the paper I will be explaining the physiological changes to the female body and during the process of labor. ... This cortisone spawns a release in the mothers’ body of the hormone prostaglandin. ... Only during the labor process do such mass amounts of prostaglandin surge through out the uterus. ... When there is enough prostaglandin in your body, your body produces oxytocin in which begins a reflex (Ferguson’s reflex). Ferguson’s reflex starts the thinning and stretching of the lower uterus and the softening of the cervix, which in turn triggers the first stage of labor. Labor is not only a painful process but it a long one at that.
