The February Revolution had many causes and highlighted severe problems, facing the Russian state. There were many important events both before and after the revolution, which made significant changes in Russian society. For centuries Russia had been lead by one family the Romanov’s who lived in palaces living perfect lives, while the Russian peasants lived in the state of poverty. Russia was considered a feudal society with the Tsar, having complete economic and political control. Russia experienced many changes in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, such as economic depression and poor harvests, which led to widespread hunger in families. This was the kind of environment Nicholas ll; the last czar of Russia began his rule in. “There was a rebellion of the Russian people against the rule of czar, Nicholas ll.” During his rule Nicholas provided the soviets, with many political organizations. From 1899 onward Russia suffered economic depression, which led to revolts and strikes. Eventually, leading to the Revolution of 1905.
