Alfred Hitchcock was born in 1899 in London. He was raised in a catholic family, so he received a very strict education. His father died when he was only 14 years old, and he had to quit school, but he contributed to study by taking evening classes. He also attended theater and cinema performances quite often. It’s at that time that he developed a great interest in this relatively new form of art. He got the chance to be involved in the movie industry in 1920, when he was hired as a title designer by an American film company called Famous player’s Lasky. Hitchcock was willing to learn the ins and outs of the film industry, which led him to work as an assistant director just 3 years after his introduction to this business.
