Andrew Lazaar, the producer of 10 things I hate about you has successfully taken an ancient and complicated Shakespearian play known as ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ and simplified it and adapted it into today’s world. The movie keeps with the general storyline of the ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ while giving a modern and realistic interpretation of a teenager in today’s world.
The scene, which I think best portrays this interpretation of today’s teenager, is the table-dancing scene at the party, where the issues of alcohol and image are raised.
