	Beth Abraham Health Services Last week I visited Beth Abraham’s long term care facility. Before going there, I was unaware of what a pharmacy does at a long term facility. However, before leaving, I had a great understanding about how important it is for the pharmacist to get the right patient, the right medication, at the right time. The pharmacy setup was the same, the drugs were in alphabetical order and narcotics were locked away, but the pharmacy’s purpose is a little different then a retail pharmacy. I learned that a long term care pharmacy does not have to deal with patients directly. Staff doctors write prescriptions and leave them in a box where a technician picks them up several times a day.
