The Movie “The Dead Poets Society” was one whose title did not grab the attention of many students. At first it did not seem like a very interesting movie but that point of view quickly changed as it was watched. It took place at a boarding school, which quickly grabbed my attention because it was easy for me to relate to. One of the main characters, Keating the poetry teacher, was a very interesting person whose love and desire for poetry was easily taught to his students. His un- orthodox ways of teaching are what he used to express the importance and use of poetry. He taught his students to basically “Suck the marrow out of Life”, Meaning to basically make much more out of something that before seemed simple.
