From the cumulative frequency graph we can that both the male and female curves are quite steep, but the male curve is less steep and has more of a curve to it than the female curve. I then worked out the upper, lower quartiles for males and female, I also worked out their medians (middle value in distribution) and inter quartile range as stated on the graph the male, upper and lower quartiles were higher than the females telling me that the males have higher IQs than females. Also the male median was higher than the female median, but not by much, but still stating the fact that the males again have higher IQ’s than females on the whole. The male curve also has a higher inter-quartile range than the female curve. This again shows that a certain population, around the middle sector of my distribution of males obtained higher IQ’s than a certain population, around the middle sector of my distribution of females, hence portraying that males have higher intelligence levels.
