A society is nothing but a group of induviduals who exist together. Human societies, not unlike animal groups have a way of tending to follow a pattern. ... And any society that kills a man for his beliefs cannot be considered stable.
The reluctance of the society to accept, or even consider new theories, instead opting to snuff out the source of such a theory, is a sign of instability. The truth is, that, a society unwilling to accept new ideas, or one that suppresses such ideas is more prone to breaking under pressure.
