... This will tell us whether the concentration of acid makes a difference to the rate of reaction. ... Rates of reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid when using different concentrations. One way of making the reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid more effective or less effective would be to use higher molar of hydrochloric acid. A high concentration makes a reaction faster. A reaction is faster with high concentrations as there is more of each particle. ... The more collisions the faster the reaction. A reaction is slower with low concentrations as there is less of each particle. ... A low concentration makes a reaction slower. We aim to find out if concentration effects the rate of reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid. Prediction I predict that the higher the molar of hydrochloric acid the faster the reaction will be. ... More collisions mean a faster reaction. ...
We could have changed things like
Temperature would of made the reaction faster as the atoms move faster and collide more
Measurements of acid would of made it react faster as if there is more acid there will be more atoms causing more energy
Measurements of magnesium if we used more it would take longer as there is more for the acid to react with
I think we made the right decision by changing the molar and keeping everything stated above the same.
