On Page 319 Geertz uses a concept of Bentham, even if the reader is unfamiliar with Bentham, as I was, he can still get an understanding of the concept Geertz is trying to push to the reader. On Page 493 Limerick uses stories by Helen Hunt Jackson and Dee Brown. Wideman uses his brother’s, Robby, stories to get his point across throughout the essay. ... The only author that I feel used to many outside opinions is John Wideman. ... In the essay Our Time, by John Wideman, he tells a lot of what his mother and his brother do and say rather than how he is feeling which is definitely a problem he much overcome.
