Report
There are many differences and similarities between the two Christian denominations I have researched. The Uniting church (UCA) and the Catholic Church.
Administration
The UCA has four parts of administration and quite a flat hierarchy compared to Catholics. The UCA administration work together to recognize the church’s vision. ...
The Catholic Church is governed by the pope and there are councils or assembly’s which form synods. ... The Uniting Church (UCA) shows there fellowship with the church, throughout the ages by the use of the Apostles creed and Nicene Creed which is much like Catholics. ...
The Role of Women
In the UCA women play a very important role just as the men do. In the Uniting Church ministers are allowed to marry unlike Catholics who are not. ... They occupy many other positions in the various councils in the church. As members of the UCA, women share all the rights and responsibilities of men unlike the Catholic Church where women are only allowed to do small jobs like distributing communion, visiting the sick, and cleaning the church. ... The church is bound by the choice made by the Lord and feel for this reason the ordination of women is not possible.
Mary and the Saints
The UCA do not pray to Mary or the Saints, they do not believe that it is necessary and do not think that they need anybody to reach God other than Jesus Christ.
