... Pete Rose was one of the greats who is still looking for the credit he deserves. ... When Rose stepped across those chalked lines, it was him and the game, and no one was going to stop him. However, Pete’s mark on baseball is not yet complete because he was banned from baseball and can not get a chance to be voted into the Hall of Fame. Some critics of Rose believe he does not deserve to be there, but I believe he should mainly because of the great numbers he has put up and the fact that other ball players have done far worse than place a bet.
The Pete Rose Hall of Fame controversy has been debated by just about all Americans at one point or another. ... There are critics who have the nerve to say that Rose does not have the numbers of many Hall of Famers. There are the ones who believe that Pete Rose is the only one that has ever broken a rule and for that reason he should not be let back in baseball. However, there is many facts and records that show how great Pete Rose is and how good of a man he is compared to many others. As in the words of Garvey, assistant ten time All-Star and holder of the National League record of 1,027 consecutive games, “Nobody played the game harder than Pete Rose…(Garber 3).
