HAMLET, PRINCE OF DENMARK
William Shakespeare’s, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is considered to be one of the most famous plays in English literature. The plot begins when Prince Hamlet returns to Denmark after hearing of his father’s death. He also finds out at this time that his Uncle Claudius has taken over the reins of Denmark and married his mother, Queen Gertrude. At the same time, Hamlet’s best friend Horatio, and two night watchmen have witnessed a ghost they believe resembles the late King Hamlet. Prince Hamlet confronts the ghost. This is when Hamlet finds out that his father did not die in his sleep, but was murdered by his own brother. Throughout the rest of the play Hamlet thinks of nothing other than seeking revenge for his father’s death. In order to keep his plan hidden, Hamlet acts as if he’s gone mad. ...
A conflict Hamlet must first endure is making sure that his uncle is guilty of this horrible crime. ... Hamlet will at this time closely moniter his uncle for any reactions. When the scene gets to the murder Claudius leaves the room immediately, proving to Hamlet that he is guilty.
Hamlet finally decides to confront his mother on the situation at hand. As they are conversing, Hamlet hears someone hiding behind the curtains. Without any hesitation, Hamlet stabs the person, hoping and thinking it is Claudius.
