Why Do Many Christians oppose abortion?
Abortion is the premature termination of an embryo or a foetus either occurring naturally or by artificial means. Before 1968 abortion was illegal in the United Kingdom. Since the Abortion act came into place it is legal as long as it is registered, agreed upon by two doctors and, the baby is not yet able to survive without the mother. ... The issue of abortion is a difficult one for Christians as there is strife disagreement within the Christian community as to whether it is right or wrong.
The Catholic Church opposes abortion. They have a strong fundamentalist view meaning that in all cases abortion is morally wrong and against the Christian god’s wishes. ... They believe that a foetus when first conceived is a potential human life and therefore abortion is murder. ...
